For the Colonies, it all started at 2015 Colonial Inauguration at GW when Peter Stevens III and Joey Mamlin realized that they had two things in common— playing instruments, and their taste in music. And with Peter on guitar and Joey on drums, it was the perfect formula for a rock band à la the Strokes and the Black Keys, whom the band is heavily influenced by. The next year, Dylan Trupiano joined the band on guitar, and Jordan Mullaney on the bass guitar. The past year has been an eventful one for the band, with the release of their second album, One of a Kind, along with a handful of headlined gigs around D.C.
The fluid combination of DMV native Marianne Khattar's diverse musical foundation and refined vocal prowess has allowed her to carefully perfect her approach to songwriting and find her true voice. Drawing in meaningful influence from her Lebanese-American upbringing, the complexity and substances behind her words are both immediately recognizable and deeply impactful. With a delicate jazz and soul backbone, a passion for R&B and a soaring vocal range, Marianne's work is destined to pull the heartstrings and influence an entirely new generation of young songwriters.
Ferrier is a self-taught and self-made artist and producer from Cobb County in GA. His latest album "Cuffin' Season" featured his soulful and raw vocals over hip-hop and jazz infused production. Whether he's opening sold out shows with Sam East or producing a rap album from his college dorm with AJ Peoples, the range of Ferrier's music goes beyond genre, but simply seeks to connect with fans with honesty and vulnerability. His most recent single "Black Is" featuring AJ Peoples is a commentary on the joy of being black through all the setbacks that black people face daily in America.

The Standard Issue
The Standard Issue is a Soul/Funk/Pop band based in Washington D.C. The group formed in 2017, and has since been playing shows around the DMV area. The group met in a large jazz ensemble at the George Washington University and uses their love of jazz to write flavorful original music (which they will be releasing this spring) and reharmonize their favorite popular tunes. The group is made up of lead vocalist, Christina Maldonado, guitarist and exotic hat wearer, Zach Blankstein, Eric Boulter on the fretless Fender Jazz Bass, and drummer Jeff Armstrong (as seen on Family Feud).
